My husband and I have long dreamed of having a shore home. We finally decided to make the move and selected Brigantine as our destination of choice. We reached out to Dennis Allen to assist us in our search because of the fantastic testimonials he received from former clients. We are pleased to say that we were not disappointed! We were fairly proactive home shoppers and, for each trip to Brigantine, we provided Dennis with an extensive list of properties that we wished to see. Dennis made it happen. He provided honest feedback on some of our home candidates, preventing wasted time, and offered suggestions that we would not otherwise have considered. We toured 60+ homes over four months, throughout which Dennis patiently shared his knowledge and expertise of the local market and municipal requirements. He guided us through an offer on a great property, along with a rescission of that offer when we discovered violations of the condominium rules and regulations. Dennis stuck with us until we found “the one,” which we recently acquired. Negotiations were handled expertly, leading to a fair purchase price, and settlement proceeded without a hitch. Dennis has a laid back approach and sense of humor that we appreciated during the sometimes stressful and disappointing house hunting process. However, these attributes are balanced by his sharp business sense and extensive knowledge of the community, local market, and listing agencies/agents. We found Dennis’ knowledge of and experience with property renovations to be invaluable in considering the true cost of houses under consideration. His contacts in the community are also extremely helpful and we feel comfortable with the individuals/companies recommended for home inspections, insurance, renovations, etc. We also appreciated his unwavering confidence that the right house would come along. He was correct and we are thrilled with our purchase. On a final note, I would be remiss in failing to mention Dennis’ response to Hurricane Sandy. He had our prospective home inspected before the flood waters fully receded. More significantly, Dennis was a major source of information regarding impacts from Sandy throughout the course of the storm. The Ashore Realty web site and Twitter accounts were updated multiple times daily with reports and photographs. Dennis even extended an offer to those who had evacuated to photograph and report on the conditions of their homes and undoubtedly spent countless hours easing people’s minds or at least forewarning them of the damage sustained.
